This kit includes the yarn and pattern to knit one Rowland and comes in a printed cotton project bag.
The kit includes 5 Miniballs in 5 colours as pictured (one 'owl' colour, one 'eyes/beak' colour and three jumper colours). The yarn is a pure wool 4ply spun in Scotland by JC Rennie. If you want more info on the yarn please have a look at the Miniball listing.
Designed as a friend for Harold Fatmus, Rowland is knit in the round, the base is knit flat separately and then sewn on. The beak is knit separately and sewn on. The design is made with stranded knitting technique and the top of the owl is seamed with a three needle bind off. Stuffing and needles are not included, Rowland is knit on 3mm and 3.25mm DPNs or long circular for magic loop. The smaller sized needles are only used for a couple of plain rounds, if you don't have that size it won't be a disaster if you use the larger size all the way through!
Finished size of Rowland is approx 18cm high.
The fair isle design is charted and includes decreases. The decrease rows are also written out.
