The Pic N Mix cowl is available free online from knitty.com. This kit includes 15 Miniballs in different colours - sufficient to make the cowl as pictured or longer if desired - plus a paper copy of the pattern in a project bag. Needles are not included but the cowl is knit in the round on a 40cm 3.25mm needle which can be purchased separately. This cowl is a fair isle repeat and each time you repeat the motif you chose a different selection of colours from your bag of 15. This allows you to play with colours as much as you like and even if some of the motifs don't work as well as others the overall cowl will look lovely and you'll learn about colour mixing along the way. You can have any starting palette you like, aim for 5 light, 5 medium and 5 dark colours, and your cowl will be unique, even if you choose the same starting palette as someone else.
