The preorders will be dispatched from Mid-October (for overseas orders) to early November (UK orders).
This year's calendar makes a cowl or scarf and will be inspired by Fair Isle motifs. You will also get instructions for a hat that can be made with your favourite motifs, you can make the hat to match the cowl with your leftovers or you can make several hats instead of the cowl. You get 24 Miniballs (10g/50m of JC Rennie 4ply pure wool) in different colours and a pattern to go with it that uses stranded knitting in the round. The unwrapped version means you can see all the colours at once, but ideal if you have a refillable calendar already. The colour order is included with the pattern. Each day you get a new colour and a new part of the pattern. The photo shows previous year's but this year will have different motifs and colours. Needles are not included - a 3.25mm 40cm circular or DPNs would be ideal which can be purchased separately. The hat uses a 3mm and 3.25mm 40cm circular and a longer circular or DPNs in the larger size for the crown. If you don't fancy making the pattern included we have several patterns that use 3-15 Miniballs that can be downloaded for free at the 'Free Patterns' section.
The photos of finished knitting are from previous calendars, the motifs for 2024 are different.
For more info on the yarn please see the 'Miniball' listing.
We also have a Kinross 4ply version in 12 colours. The Kinross is softer than the Miniballs when washed so if you find the JC Rennie yarn a little scratchy for wearing around the neck you may want to consider these options.
